hello! yeah i am a Royai fan! it's been a while since i've really done any FMA content, and honestly it's been ages since i've used this journal since fandom so insistently refuses to come to this platform, but maybe i'll try again to drag some more people over.

how'd you find me, if i may ask? i haven't been active in FMA fandom for quite a time, so i'm a little impressed lol

Uhhh I'mma be real I barely know how to use this site and was just adding random tags and then when I got to Royai I accidentally clicked it and you had some profile at the time that made me go "oh cool pfp aesthetic" because I tend to be attracted to pretty pfps lol and then I was like "oh they like royai, final fantasy, and Inuyasha too that's pretty cool".

We're mutuals on tumblr, but met via the KH Big Bang a couple years ago. I think we still have some fandom stuff and general attitudes in common, including "I wish people would fucking use dreamwidth" lol

oh hey! of course i remember you! i haven't used this journal a whole lot cuz there's still like.... nobody here, sadly, but. i'm gonna try and get back into the habit. maybe we can drag a few more people on over hehehehe.

I've used mine a lot just for personal updates, trying to practice what I preach, haha. Turns out I really did miss personal journaling, even with pretty low engagement! I'm all in favor of luring more people here. I *know* it's an "old fashioned" style compared to modern social media, but god did I not realize how much I love not being advertised to every damn second, and the generally more chill vibe. There are a lot of reasonably active writing communities, too!

I've enjoyed it even just as a personal thing, but I definitely do hope that someday it's a more active platform! Someday I will stop being nostalgic for the old days of LJ, but today is not that day.

I'll be honest that I've fallen behind on most of the writing comms in the last couple months, though I'll hopefully get my enthusiasm back after the hectic summer nonsense winds down at work.
Here are the writing communities that I know of that are fairly active:

The most active is probably ushobwri (You Should Be Writing), which is a writing support community. There are twice-weekly posts to chat on and check in with each other on.

justcreate is open to all kinds of creative stuff, and does weekly check-ins. It's very low-pressure, but is a nice place to share about how stuff is going, and sharing your stuff is highly encouraged.

whatif_au is a multi-fandom writing community that focuses on a different AU type/prompt for each month. Stuff can be shared at any point, so the monthly themes are very soft deadlines, but it can be fun to have the prompts and see what people share. It's fairly small, so there's not always a ton posted in fandoms I'm a part of, but... it's AUs, so sometimes it doesn't matter, lol.

writethisfanfic hasn't been updated since last month, but I'm hoping it isn't dead. :( It was another weekly check-in, with a month-by-month "challenge", where you could ask for different types of motivation or declare different goals for the month. Looks like no one signed up to be the "host" for weeks in August, so I hope that it doesn't wind up dying out.

There's also inkingitout, which is an annual challenge community, so signups are closed for this year, but it's kept up with weekly check-in posts that can be really helpful.
